CORPUS CHRISTI - Dense sea fog has shut down operations at the Port of Corpus Christi.
Poor visibility forced port officials to suspend vessel traffic about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. And visibilities were still less than 100 feet in the harbor area late this morning.
Port spokesmen say there are currently three ships docked in the port waiting to depart, and seven more are anchored offshore, waiting to deliver their cargoes.
It will be up to the Port Pilots, who guide ships in and out of the port, to decide when the weather is clear enough to resume vessel traffic.
