CORPUS CHRISTI - If you plan to head out towards Alice or Agua Dulce avoid FM 665 west of Driscoll as the road is closed.
The ashpalt is breaking up, causing several cars and 18-wheelers to slide off the road and into the mud. Photos from viewers show tires coated with more than an inch of asphalt mix.
One tractor-trailer jackknifed and blocked the road.
The stretch of road is between FM 666 and FM 70. A TxDOT is being called to the scene to help keep the road blocked off.
They'll also be laying day some salt to potentially keep the road surface together.
We're told that stretch of road was just repaved this week - before it rained heavily.
TxDOT is expected to provide a 1-800 number for car owners to call and report damage.
