CORPUS CHRISTI- Residents in the Flour Bluff area got their chance Thursday night to see plans and give input into a new skateboarding park to be built in their neighborhood.
The Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department hired a private company, Grindline Concrete Skatepark Company, to design and build the park this spring at Wranosky Park, near Waldron Road and Graham Road.
Local skateboarding enthuiasts in the city's far southside say they welcome the park, as it will bring a place in their part of town in which to skate. They have had to go either to the main park downtown, or another park in Port Aransas, both are several miles away.
Construction on the new park is scheduled to start in March, with an opening planned in early June.
