FLOUR BLUFF - There was a scare at the Flour Bluff Early Childhood Center today after a kindergarten student brought what police are calling a high grade replica hand gun to school to show his classmates.
The Flour Bluff I-S-D website had a message posted to parents this morning that says the gun wasn't loaded and that the student didn't have any bullets. Police say the gun wasn't actually capable of firing anything.
The message goes on to say that the student told his teacher that he had the gun, and that's when she told the administration about it. The Corpus Christi Police Department came and got the gun, and later determined it was a fake.
C.C.P.D says they will not pursue charges against the student's parents because the gun was a fake.
Child Protective Services says they'll wait for C.C.P.D to finish their investigation, and then determine if they need to look into the situation any further.
According to the message on the Flour Bluff website, the student indicated that he had the gun on his dresser at home for a long time.
