AUSTIN - A strong storm moved through central Texas overnight dumping several inches of rain across the region. The heavy rainfall and rising waters swamped roads and homes in the Austin area.
Several roads had to be closed and residents were evacuated from neighborhoods.
One of the most dramatic involved a woman in labor who was trapped in her car by the fast-rising waters. Crews had to use a rescue boat in order to reach her.
The rain forced school closings and delays in several counties.
