CORPUS CHRISTI - One fisherman is lucky to be alive today after he fell out of his kayak near Packery Channel.
Police say the man snagged something on the line and it pulled him into the water. Luckily he was wearing his life vest.
But the man was not tethered to his kayak which drifted away from him. One of his friends ran into the water with his own kayak and managed to get him after fighting the current and winds.
Lifeguards helped bring him ashore and he was taken to the hospital with a possible case of hypothermia.
Officer Eric Garza with the CCPD said, "He said he was really tired. He was exhausted, he was tired. He'd been out drifting in the water for, I'd say, maybe 30 to 45 minutes before the boat units were able to get him out."
