CORPUS CHRISTI - A lawn mowershed and fence caught on fire around 3:30 this afternoon on the South side of town. High smoke and flames led firefighters to think the actual house was on fire. The fire chief said flames engulfed about 20 feet of fence. No one was home at the time and crews were able to put out the fire within about 10 minutes. A neighbor said he's relieved no one was hurt but lent this advice for anyone living in a neighborhood.
"We all need to have each other's updated phone numbers," said Urby Mancha, "because I couldn't find my neighbor's updated phone number to get a hold of him, check in the house and see if somebody was asleep or anything so it was quite frightening there for a moment."
