CORPUS CHRISTI - Fire investigator are still searching for the man they believe set fire to a home on the 900 block of Cheyenne Street. Around 7 p.m. Saturday Corpus Christi Fire Department was called out to this home. When they arrived heavy smoke was seen coming from the back side of the home. It took fire crews about five minutes to put out the fire. The back side of the home suffered the most damage from the fire, the rest of the home had smoke and water damage.
A neighbor told the fire department he saw a gas can on fire near the home and tried to put it out using a home, he says he saw a man leaving from the home shortly after the fire started.
Later Saturday night, police arrest a man after crashing in to a building. He's been charged with DUI. Police say the arrested man had a similar description to to what witnesses told fire investigators. The man also had burns on his body according to police.
He was taken to the hospital to be checked out before going to jail.
At this point, police are not saying whether the man arrested is a suspect in the arson fire.
