Fire Guts Morgan Resale Shop

CORPUS CHRISTI- A three-alarm fire early Sunday morning destroyed a large building on Morgan.

The building housed a resale business and was also destroyed.

Firefighters were called just after three A.M. to the building on Morgan and Rosewood.

When they arrived, flames were coming from the roof, prompting firefighters to call for help.

A third alarm was given quickly, approximately 50 firefighters were on scene fighting the large fire.

A man, who was possibly living inside, was pulled out from the building. He was taken to a San Antonio burn hospital with serious injuries.

Two firefighters, who were outside the building, were hurt when an exterior wall collapsed, parts of that wall struck the two, sending them to a local hospital with minor injuries.

It took over three hours for the main fire to be put out, they were still watering down hot spots well after sunrise.

Battillon Chief James Brown says it will take at least a day or two before investigators will be able to safely enter the building to find a cause.
