CORPUS CHRISTI - Battalion Fire Chief J.D. Johnson is back at work after four months of rehab. On August 9, 2012 Johnson responded to a fire in Robstown at a gymnastics academy. The impact of the roof collapsing sent flames out that burned Johnson. He suffered second and third degree burns to his face and arms and has been recovering ever since.
"It's going well," Johnson said, "Things are getting back to normal."
Johnson said he'll be working in the office until he's fully ready to fight fires again.
