FREER - State Troopers working a collision on Highway 16 between two 18-wheelers say the toppling of a utility pole caused the fire that consumed both trucks.
According to troopers, one truck hauling bricks south of Freer was turning left onto private property when it was struck by another big rig.
The driver hauling the bricks suffered burns to his hands and face. Halo Flight was called in to move the man to Christus Spohn Memorial in Corpus Christi.
The other driver was not injured.
