CORPUS CHRISTI - A sentencing hearing for convicted murderer Bradley Fikes will now be held in late February due to a death in the family of a key witness in the case.
Fikes faces up to life in prison following the guilty verdict returned yesterday afternoon.
During the trial, the argument was never made that Fikes did not shoot Nick Welch in the face. Attorneys tried to argue for a lesser charge than murder claiming Fikes felt threatened by the victim.
