CORPUS CHRISTI - A jury found Bradley Fikes guilty for the murder of his brother-in-law, Nick Welch, during an argument at his home near Bluntzer more than a year ago.
During the trial the argument was never made that Fikes did not shoot Welch in the face. Attorneys tried to argue for a lesser charge than murder. Family claims Welch picked on Fikes for a number of years.
The punishment phase of the trial is already underway. Fikes faces up to life in prison.
