PORT ARANSAS - The Coast Guard is investigating after a Port Aransas ferry crashed into the Station Street Pier last night.
The ferry lost both of it's engines as it made the crossing from Aransas Pass to Port Aransas. The current did the rest, sending the ferry a mile off course, straight into the pier.
Jacklin Grady was on the ferry, a nearly three hour ordeal she'd like to forget.
"I started having an anxiety attack when we first started drifting and after a little while, I just had to let it go, nothing I could do," she says.
25 passengers all braced for impact as they saw the ferry headed for the pier.
Those on the pier rushed off of it.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
Now, the Coast Guard has to figure out why both engines just failed.
They say it's very unusual for that to happen.
