Federal Investigation Locks Down Two CCISD Schools

CORPUS CHRISTI - An unusual investigation ended up locking down not one, but two CCISD schools. After nearly an hour of lockdown staus, staff and CCISD police officers at King High School and Meadowbrook Elementary School were still not sure what happened.
At 10:06, Wednesday morning wereceived word that both campuses were affected by authorities serving some sort of warrant at a home in the 700 block of Brock Drive.
But when we got there, we didn't find any CCPD officers. Instead, the home was surrounded by what turned out to be agents with Homeland Security. And they were not serving a warrant.
As a drug-sniffing dog combed the house, agents remained tight-lipped about what they were doing here.
Authorities were able to tell me that at no time were the kids from the elementary school or high school in any sort of danger. It's just protocol that anytime there is an investigation going on anywhere in the area, they lock the school down, to keep the kids safe.
But, furthermore, when the agents were done, they suddenly sped off leaving us and the CCISD police officers with unanswered questions.
We tried getting the homeowner to explain what happened to us, but he refused to come to the door. And even though he later saw me while parking his car. He closed the garage door on me, and left me, still, in the dark.
We got in touch with officials from Homeland Security and they told us they have no comment about the reason for the investigation.
On the other hand, that means the kids here at these two school are safe, and parents don't seem to have anything to worry about regarding the lockdown.
