FLORIDA - Police in Florida have arrested a man they say killed his one-year-old son so he could keep playing video games.
Authorities in Citrus County, Florida arrested this man, 24-year-old Eugene Wygant on Thursday on charges of 3rd degree murder and willful child neglect.
According to police, Wygant confessed to suffocating his one year-old son at their Homosssa home to stop the infant from crying.
Wygant then allegedly placed the child in a playpen, where the little boy remained for five more hours as the suspect played video games and watched TV.
Police say when the father checked on the boy, the toddler was blue, not breathing and unresponsive.
Wygant has an extensive criminal history.
He is scheduled to appear in court later today to face murder and neglect charges.
