Father Discovers Son Was Beat Up In Fight Video Posted On Facebook

CORUPS CHRISTI - Facebook video showing a man beating up a teen we first showed you May 24th sparked a police investigation. We first reported the teen's mom may have arranged the beating and tonight the teen's father is speaking out about the crime to.

The video shows a man wailing on a 15-year-old boy. It caused a lot of anger in the community. A man named Manuel Moya posted the video on Facebook and wrote, "This is what happens when you steal from your parents."

People were outraged when they saw the assault video but no one was as angry as the boy's father, who just found out what happened.

"I was upset and words can't explain, you know, as a parent that you could do that to a child," Carlos Torres said.

Torres hadn't heard from his son in eight months. The teen who had gotten into some trouble said he needed to move away for a bit and straighten himself out.
It's not until Torres saw and heard about our coverage that he knew what had happened.

"Kind of hard to deal with knowing that something like that could happen to your son and then see it on TV and find out through there what had happened," Torres said.

Just as shocking as the assault is that a person on Facebook under the alias "Kill Them With Kindness" claimed to be the victim's mother and wrote that she was the one who orchestrated the beating.

"To find out it's his own parent that would arrange something like that..It's just... so many different mixed emotions," the father said, "Upset. I was mad, I was angry and sad."

Police told Torres the investigation is ongoing and they're still working to build a case against the ones responsible. For now, he says he cannot take the law into his own hand; all he can do is wait for an outcome.
