THREE RIVERS - The driver of an 18-wheeler was killed this morning in a crash on I-37 just outside of Three Rivers in Live Oak County. The DPS trooper at the scene says the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
He swerved into the median and then crashed into a concrete embankment. A fuel tank ruptured and the entire rig was engulfed in flames.
The driver has not been identified. I-37 was shut down for two hours as crews cleared the wreckage. Emergency crews have opened one lane in each direction.
