CORPUS CHRISTI - A family of three is asking for help from the American Red Cross and the community at large after losing everything in a mobile home fire this afternoon.
The mother was home with her 2-year-old daughter when she noticed power was out in part of the home. She went to check the breaker, then got out quickly once she noticed smoke coming from one side of the home.
By the time fire crews arrived to the Town 'n Country Mobile Home Park at Yorktown and Waldron, the entire home was engulfed in flames.
The husband was at work at the time of the fire. The family is working on setting up a way for people to help out with donations of children's clothing. The mother lost her cell phone in the fire.
Fire officials believe an electrical short is to blame for the fire.
