SAN ANTONIO - A South Texas man who faked being a reality TV producer has been convicted of luring girls into texting him nude photos in a modeling scam.

A federal judge in San Antonio on Monday found Gemase Lee Simmons guilty of all 39 counts related to child pornography, extortion and bank fraud. Gemase, who opted against a jury trial, faces up to life in prison when he's sentenced in May.

Eight victims testified against the 36-year-old San Antonio man. Prosecutors say Simmons pretended to be other people and used his cellphone but the calls appeared to be coming from other numbers.

The FBI investigated more than 100 alleged victims. Simmons was only tried on counts relating to eight youths.

Simmons testified Monday that the girls were victims of other unknown persons.
