CORPUS CHRISTI - It's no secret around town that the Moody Trojans baseball team is taking the field tonight for the state championship game and it's more than just friends and family supporting the team.
Former Moody Trojan Edward Olguin says friends and family play a huge roll in supporting the team but so do "Trojan Tacos."
"Every body's just excited as long as I've known to me Moody is Texas Baseball. We get some of the baseball boys, we get a lot of every body in here too," Olguin said.
He says the players and other moody supporters all come to his restaurant looking for the signature menu item.
"Trojan tacos, well you can get just about anything you want. Bacon and egg, potato egg, sausage, fajitas, got barbacoa," Olguin added.
He says the signature sellers can be found at Granny's Tamales just a few feet from the ball field at Moody High School.
"Moody's always done well in baseball and it's just Moody pride all the way," Olguin said.
Tonight, the team is going after a state championship in Round Rock against Tomball. Olguin can't be there but he will be getting game updates.
"People are posting pictures and updates throughout the games so I can keep up with everything going on," Olguin said.
He says this week has been nothing short of exciting with the sendoff and semi final game that the Trojans clenched.
He says they'll bring home a win for sure.
