CALIFORNIA (KCRA) - Three California teenagers will be charged as adults for allegedly planning and attempting to carry out an elaborate kidnapping and murder plot.
Deputies say the plan started with Facebook. The teens created a fake profile, befriended the 17-year-old victim and set up a marijuana deal in a remote area of Marysville.
"They had instigated a plan to kidnap the 17-year -old, to take him to another rural isolated area, to sodomize him, to cut him, to cut his Achilles tendons and - ultimately - kill him," Yuba County District Attorney Patrick McGrath said.
The suspects covered their faces with bandannas and sunglasses, and had with them weapons -- including machetes and airsoft pistols that resemble real guns.
Deputies said as the male victim waited for the suspects, he called his aunt, who lives nearby. She arrived just as he was being thrown in the suspects' Chevy Blazer. She called deputies, who were able to track down the vehicle.
