CORPUS CHRISTI - The two men injured in Friday's home explosion are recovering in a San Antonio burn unit. The suspected natural gas explosion destroyed three homes along Holmes Drive while the concussion wave and debris caused damage to dozens more.
Robert Farley, 60, was thrown into his backyard by the blast. He's said to have severe burns to his upper body. Ryan Conner, 25, suffered severe burns, several broken bones and a possible brain injury.
Fire officials are still trying to pinpoint where the explosion started. While a natural gas leak is a likely source, officials say a blast of that size would have required a significant amount of natural gas, something neighbors would have smelled well before the explosion.
Assistant Fire Chief Cardiel says his office is working on peeling back the layers of the scene to find a source. The work is expected to take at least a week.
