CORPUS CHRISTI - Explosion experts were out on Holmes Drive this morning, looking for clues to that deadly house explosion two weeks ago.
City officials, crime scene investigators, fire officials, and lawyers were all on hand to sift through the rubble, trying to figure out what caused the explosion.
Investigators tell us they're fairly certain that it was related to some sort of gas release, but now, they have to figure out what caused that build up of gas.
They say they'll check the obvious, like related appliances. Things like the water heater and furnace.
But they also have to check the not to obvious. Things that could have been brought in from an external source like liquid propane or fertilizer. Basically, outside devices that could have caused the explosion.
"That's what we're looking for," Fire Marshal Andy Cardiel says, "is there some other device or container of something outside of what we suspect."
Lawyers were on hand this morning, searching through the rubble for their clients as potential liability issues get discussed down the line.
Investigators will be out early tomorrow, using heavy machinery to move some of this rubble to search deeper into the debris for clues.
