ROBSTOWN -- High school kids made big bucks during today's Nueces County Junior Livestock show in Robstown.
Students spend up to a year raising different farm animals then during an exciting auction, bidders spend a lot of money to buy those animals.
For example, freshman Kaylie Cruthers steer went for $21,000 and senior Kaitlyn pitman's goat went for 10,999.99.
she says being a champion isn't easy, but it's worth it.
The money she made will help pay for her college tuition.
Pitman said, "Just everyday getting up in the morning at the same time, consistent feeding schedules and exercising and all that makes for a good healthy animal."
