CORPUS CHRISTI - A Flour Bluff man was picked up on theft charges early Wednesday morning by police following up on a Lowe's loss prevention officer's efforts to identify a man who left the store without paying for a shopping cart full of tools.
Police say the employee used her cell phone to snap a picture of the suspect seen leaving the store on Airline Road in an older model Cadillac before 8 a.m. yesterday.
A Corpus Christi police officer tracked the vehicle's registered address using the department's computer databases.
40-year-old Adam Kyle Estes was reportedly pretending to be asleep when officers came knocking on the front door of his home on Weaver Drive.
He was taken back to the store to be positively identified by the employee. Estes is facing a felony theft charge for allegedly stealing the tools worth $2,585.
