Escaped Federal Inmate Still on the Run

CORPUS CHRISTI - The man who walked away from a minimum security federal prison near Three Rivers is still on the run. Early Friday morning, prison officials discovered Jose Guadalupe Aguilar, 28, was missing.

U.S. Marshals, state troopers, and area prison officials spent most of that same day searching for him in heavy brush along Highway 72 south of the Choke Canyon Reservoir.

Aguilar is a native of Brownsville who was in the middle of serving a nine month sentence for violating his parole on a weapons charge. He was scheduled to be released in October. He's 5'8" and weighs 155 pounds.

If you see Aguilar, do not approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Call the U.S. Marshals Service at (361) 578-4932.
