CORPUS CHRISTI - You're not alone if you are in the dark this afternoon on the southside of Corpus Christi. Officials with American Electric Power (AEP) say 4,847 customers are being affected by an equipment failure at a substation on Wooldridge near Rodd Field.

As of 4:40 p.m. roughly 1,500 customers were still without power. Crews hope to have all service restored by 5:30 this afternoon.

If you plan on heading out be mindful that traffic signals at some intersections in the area may be affected by the outage.
