Engine Fire Delays Flight at Corpus Christi International Airport

CORPUS CHRISTI - A fire onboard a United Airlines jet caused flight delays this morning at the Corpus Christi International Airport.

The crew was about to board the jet when they noticed a warning light in the cockpit. That's when they saw smoke and flames coming from the left engine.

The 7 a.m. flight to Houston was delayed a few hours as were the next couple of flights leaving from that gate.

No passengers were on the jet when the fire happened.

Mechanics from the airline are finding the source of the fire and repairing the airplane.
