CORPUS CHRISTI - The trial continues this morning for 32-year-old Tabatha Elliot. She's accused of killing 39-year-old Gilbert Reyna in a hit and run crash last May.
Police believe Elliott struck and killed Gilbert Reyna as he and his brother were walking eastbound along Interstate 37 before dawn. One of the brothers had run out of gas earlier on the road and was walking home.
EIlliot was arrested last June and charged with suspicion of causing an accident involving injury or death, a third-degree felony.
Today Elliot's cellmate, Vivian Sanchez, testified that Elliot confided in her while locked up together over the summer. Sanchez told the jury Elliot admitted to her that she had done something bad, but there was no proof of what she did.
Sanchez claims Elliot described how she cleaned her car with Clorox and water to remove the blood and replaced the windshield the night of the accident in a garage.
Sanchez says while in jail Elliot admitted to "feeling good and buzzed" while driving home from a nightclub after having "two shots of tequila and two beers."
