CORPUS CHRISTI - Tabatha Elliot has decided to enter a guilty plea for failing to stop and render aid to Gilbert Reyna after she hit him along Interstate 37 last May. There's no word on what kind of punishment Elliot faces on that charge.
Her trial continues this afternoon on the remaining charges of tampering with evidence and manslaughter. This afternoon Elliot was seen praying and wiping away tears as the defense presented their case.
Earlier today, her former cellmate testified that Elliot admitted to her that she had done something bad, but there was no proof of what she did. Vivian Sanchez claims Elliot described how she cleaned her car with Clorox and water to remove the blood and had the windshield of her PT Cruiser replaced soon after the crash.
Sanchez says while in jail Elliot admitted to "feeling good and buzzed" while driving home from a nightclub after having "two shots of tequila and two beers."
Gilbert Reyna, 39, died as he was walking along the shoulder of the Interstate with his brother. Reyna was walking with a bright chrome bike after one of the brothers ran out of gas along the road.
Elliot was arrested based on investigators tracking of car parts lost in the collision.
