From the CCPD Media Briefing

CORPUS CHRISTI - Around 5:50 p.m. Thursday evening, a 79-year-old woman in the 4900 block of Urban told officers that a couple that assisted her after her husband's recent death had possibly stolen a large sum of cash from her.

The woman reported that she had taken the cash out of the bank recently, fearing the impending stock market crash, and kept the money in a safe place at her residence.

The victim stated the couple that had been assisting her for several months have mysteriously disappeared.

She thought this odd and went to check on her hidden funds, only to find the money gone.

It takes a amazing low people to steal from the elderly  or from anyone for that matter. But even more so from a elderly widow . Those lowlifes are the first ones to drop to there knees and plead to god for help in there time of crisis. I hope things works out for the victim, and Those thiefs are caught.

This poor lady did not deserve what they did to her.  I am sure she trusted them with everything and then they did this to her.  I really hope they are found and tried for what they did.  How can you look at yourself in the mirror?  Shame on you, you dirty thief.  I pray your grandmother is never treated like this.  Wouldn't be funny then, would it???
