Edwards and Diaz Jailed for Car Wash Murder

CORPUS CHRISTI - A second man implicated in the murder of Juan Ramirez at a car wash is now in custody after an officer tried to question him as part of a hot check investigation.
Brian Edwards, 42, was in a truck pulled over by an officer near Carroll Lane and Holly Road. As the officer was patting him down, Edwards took off running.
Police say nearby citizens helped stop Edwards for the officer. The woman who was with Edwards was also captured.
The arrest affidavit for Edwards states his phone number came up while police were checking out the mobile phone of Juan Ramirez. According to court documents they were texting each other about a drug deal that was supposed to happen at the car wash on Morgan.
A witness says he took Ramirez to the car wash, but stuck around to watch his back. Ramirez was shot multiple times and left for dead.
The witness told police he tried to follow the shooter he identified as "Ant' but changed his mind when threatened with a pistol.
Last week, U.S. Marshals arrested Anthony Diaz for his alleged role in the murder.
