Early Voting Turnout Low as Usual

CORPUS CHRISTI - About 11,000 showed up at the polls during early voting for this year's primary election, based on the latest numbers from the county.

That's about six percent of the 184,470 registered voters in Nueces County and is roughly the same percentage seen during the 2012 Presidential Primaries.

Primary voters vote along party lines and this year's Democratic ballot includes a statewide proposition calling on the state to expand medicaid coverage, among other propositions.

The Republican ballot asks whether the state should move to protect prayer in public places and move to expand where concealed weapons can be carried.

Tomorrow is primary election day - be sure to tune into KRIS-6 News for all your election updates.
