CORPUS CHRISTI - Early voting numbers continue surging through the first four days of the early voting period.
Early voting this year has more than doubled early voting for all of 2011, when fewer than 2,500 people cast ballots, based on the latest data from the Nueces County Elections office.
Officials have credited Destination Bayfront - a $44 million ballot initiative proposed by the city - with the high turnout.
Early voting polls are open every day through Nov. 1.
