Early Morning Fire Damages Two Night Clubs

CORPUS CHRISTI - Fire fighters are investigating an early morning fire that started at a Southside night club and spread to another.

The fire started around 3:30 a.m. in a strip center filled with night clubs located on the 5800 block of Staples.

An employee at Andy's Kitchen heard three large pops, and then noticed smoke and flames coming from Club Toxic and Tejanoville. He called 911.

Firefighters say both clubs have significant damage to the interiors as well as to the roof, attic and foundation.

Investigators said they aren't ruling out arson as a possible cause, but said that it's too early to determine the exact cause of the fire.

They estimate that both night clubs will remain closed for at least several days.
