Early Morning Carjacking Suspects Still On The Run

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police have called off the search for two early morning carjacking suspects.

Officers responded to a carjacking call around 1 a.m. at an apartment complex on Ennis Joslin near S.P.I.D. They say three suspects pointed a gun at a woman as she was punching in the gate code, and they took off in her red Mustang.

About an hour later, an officer spotted the Mustang at a Stripes convenience store on Yorktown. Police chased after the suspects when they fled the scene. During the chase, a police unit was sideswiped by the Mustang.

The suspects and a police unit drove into a nearby park. When the cars got stuck in the mud, two of the suspects ran away.

Police found a juvenile male in the back seat. He will be charged with aggravated robbery.

Officers and a police K-9 search for the other two suspects and shut down a small area near Meadowgate Drive.

The search was called off around 7 a.m.

If the two are caught, they will face several charges including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault on a peace officer, and evading arrest.

If you have any information about this case, you are asked to call CCPD.
