CORPUS CHRISTI - A 23-year-old suspected drunk driver left a trail of damage in the 5200 block of Snowgoose Road this morning. According to police, the driver of a 2012 Camaro was speeding when he lost control of the car.
The Camaro hit a brick wall and a parked car in the driveway. A Chevy truck next door was damaged by flying bricks from the crash, as was the roof of the home itself. The owner estimates $32,000 in damages.
Police say the suspect fled the scene only to be caught later. At this time, police have not released his name as charges are pending based on a decision by the District Attorney's office. Police say they believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
The homeowner tell us the driver came by this afternoon to apologize for the crash. The homeowner says the young man told him he was not drinking, he just lost control of the car.
This morning the owners of both homes, plus their visitng families, were busy hauling off all the debris and making repairs to the property.
