DWI and Weapons Charges for Man Who Drove Through Construction Site

CORPUS CHRISTI - A drunk driving suspect was hit with more charges after police found some hidden weapons on him.

Police were called to Shoreline Boulevard just after midnight for a Jeep that crashed through a construction barricade.

Officers didn't see a driver in the Jeep, but noticed a man walking in a parking lot nearby.

The man was questioned because police suspected he was under the influence of alcohol. It turns out he is the owner of the Jeep.

24-year-old Brian Heyz II was arrested for DWI and for weapons possession. Police say they found a dagger and a pistol in the vehicle.
