Drivers Seriously Injured in Highway 77 Crash

REFUGIO - Two men seriously injured in a head-on crash along Highway 77 were flown to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital by Halo Flight this morning.

Two helicopters were sent to pick up the drivers of a pickup truck and large truck that collided in the southbound lanes of traffic.

A flight medic says the drivers were both conscious and talking as they were being treated.

It took Refugio firefighters half an hour to free the 46-year-old and 41-year-old men from the wreckage.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has not provided information on the cause of the crash.
