Driver Seriously Injured When Box Truck Flipped

CORPUS CHRISTI - An accident involving a delivery truck has shut down all of the I37 southbound lanes at Suntide road.

That accident also left the driver seriously injured.

Police say around 10:30 this morning, the 30-year-old man was driving an Aaron's delivery truck, when he ran onto the shoulder and into the grass.

He tried to get back on the road but over-corrected and slammed into the concrete divider.

The impact caused his truck to flip onto it's side.

Fire crews had to smash out his front windshield to get the man out.

He was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries.

The area where the accident happened will be closed for about an hour, so traffic investigators can create a laser map of the scene.
