CORPUS CHRISTI - Department of Public Safety troopers are following school buses all across Texas this week to hand out citations for drivers who don't stop for school buses. Local troopers hopped aboard buses this morning to kick off the week-long operation.
During last year's National School Bus Safety Week, troopers issued 449 citations. In an effort to keep children safe on their way to school, they will check for drivers who don't stop for that red-flashing stop sign. The price for a ticket can reach $1,250.
