GOLIAD - 13 people are were killed last night when a truck ran off the road and hit a tree.
It happened on highway 59 near Goliad before 6:30 last night.
According to Victoria County DPS troopers, a Ford-250 Super Duty truck carrying at least 22 people ran off the highway and hit a tree head-on after it had a flat tire.
Along with the fatalities, at least 11 people were air-lifted to several different hospitals incluing a Corpus Christi hosptial, many have critcal injuries.
One died after being taken to the hospital.
Troopers say that five or six people were in the cab and the rest were in the bed of the truck.
Many of the passengers were thrown from the truck, one was found about 50 or 60 feet away.
The jaws of life had to be used to get some people out of the cab.
Men, women and children were in truck when it crashed.
But right now officals investigating have yet to say if they were illegal immigrants.
However, ICE and Border Patrol are working to identify those involved.
