Donation Event This Weekend for Puppy Thrown out of a car

CORPUS CHRISTI - A puppy is recovering from severe burns after being thrown out of a car. But thanks to a witness to the dog disposal... the animal was able to get help immediately.

This little guy was dropped off at guardian's rescue, a facility that helps find foster parents for animals...by a man who says he
saw someone throw him out of a car across the street from Memory Gardens Cemetery...and now he's on the road to recovery.

"Oh no no...don't lick, don't lick. I actually usually keep a little onesie on him," Marissa Rivera, a Foster Parent for Guardian's Rescue explains.

That's to stop this german shepard puppy from slowing down the healing process for the burns on his back.

"Tthe worst is all underneath here...because...can you see? On the sides here...this isn't even attached anymore," Rivera shows.

Marissa Rivera got him on Sunday and is now his foster care parent-giving him special baths twice a day to help with the burns to start the recovery process. She also has had to take him to everhart animal hospital for additional care.

"We gave it it's first vaccination's and of course treated it for intestinal parasites," Dr. Alan Garett, an Everhart Animal Hospital Veternarian explains.

But this little puppy's journey to recover is not over yet...tomorrow Dr. Garrett is going to look over his back to see if he is going to need surgery">

"The dog may need some surgery to debry or cut away the dead tissue that's there," Garett says.

So he can get back to looking handsome again...because this weekend will be a big one for him. He will be up for adoption at the everhart animal hospital on sunday. employees will collect donations to be sold. the money earned will go toward his vet costs.

<(Marissa Rivera, Foster Parent for Guardian's Rescue) : "anything you have that you're not using anymore all you have to do is bring it over to Everhart and that is where the donation center is">

If all goes well, he will get a new loving home this weekend. If you are interested in donating to help cover this puppy's medical expenses here is the information:

Donations will be from 8a-2p in front of Everhart Animal Hospital Saturday. Those items then will be a rummage sale sunday also at the animal hospital.

Don't forget...this little guy and other rescued animals will be up for adoption sunday as well.
