CORPUS CHRISTI - Firefighters rescued two dogs from a burning home on the 4000 block of Manhattan Drive, across the street from Carroll High School.

The owners of the home weren't there when the fire started, but once they showed up, they let firefighters know about the dogs inside.

There's no word on what started the small fire or how badly the home is damaged on the inside.
