CORPUS CHRISTI - Former attorney David Bonilla will serve 10 years in prison for violating his probation on charges for misuse of fiduciary property and theft.
Five years ago his clients came forward with accusations he had withheld their settlement cash.
Back in May 2011, Bonilla was placed on 10 years probation after he pleaded guilty to six counts of misuse of fiduciary property and one count of theft.
Prosecutors say he pocketed money that had been awarded to his clients. Bonilla was also ordered to pay half a million dollars in restitution.
