DHS Secretary Puts Ex-Watchdog on Leave

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Homeland Security secretary has put the agency's former internal watchdog on administrative leave. This comes after a Senate report that concluded he was too cozy with senior agency officials and improperly rewrote, delayed or classified some critical reports to accommodate President Barack Obama's political appointees.

Secretary Jeh Johnson says he put Charles K. Edwards on leave from his new job in Homeland Security's science and technology office Thursday.

Johnson says other people implicated in the Senate report have already left Homeland Security, but he will continue to take appropriate action as more information is learned.
