CORPUS CHRISTI - A Nueces County deputy found the wreckage of truck that drove off an overpass near Highway 286 and FM 43 this morning. As of this afternoon there's no word on what happened or how the driver is doing.
Apparently, emergency crews were unable to find the truck after a passerby called 911 around 7:45 this morning. As a result, police officers and paramedics instead headed over to a larger wreck.
The deputy who later found the Ford F-150 on its side couldn't tell us how long the vehicle was there. The driver was nowhere to be found.
To be fair, the truck was about 10 feet below the road surface with a view blocked by trees. It does beg the question of why the person who reported the crash never stuck around to help police find the scene.
