Deputies Overcome by Fumes

FLORIDA (WESH) - A chemical attack injured four deputies in Orange County, Florida Thursday night.

Investigators said the attack when the deputies tried to speak to Jeremy Hughes, and Hughes attacked them with a chemical.

The deputies said they felt nauseous and short of breath.

Authorities said the four deputies and Hughes were treated for exposure to what appeared to be methamphetamine manufacturing chemicals.

Hughes was arrested on a warrant from Escambia County and additional charges, including battery on a law enforcement office and methamphetamine manufacturing, are forthcoming.
