CORPUS CHRISTI - There's still no sign of the man who shot a homeowner during a burglary in the 1000 block of Deforrest St. Monday afternoon.
Police say around 4pm, 24-year-old Nick Kelley came home to find a guy inside wearing a ski mask. They say he shot Kelley once in the right shoulder with Kelley's own gun and took off.
Officers searched the neighborhood with assault rifles, but couldn't find the shooter.
Police say the man may have entered the home after the front door was left unlocked by a woman who made a quick trip to the store.
When she returned, she found Kelley wounded and took him to the hospital.
Authorities say he is expected to be okay.
Police say they have not received any tips and don't know if anything was stolen.
If you know anything about this crime, call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS.
